Black & White: Robert Burke

| | Comments (1)

In anticipation of the August Sander exhibit, People of the 20th Century, coming to the Met in late May, you may want to trek over to Williamsburg and see the Robert Burke show at Black & White Gallery entitled "Every Occupation in America". Burke has apparently been bit by the typology bug and is attempting to catalog a male and female example of every job in the US. This show has more than 150 photographs; a good start, it seems.

There is an opening reception tonight, from 6-9pm. As the gallery is in the wilds of Williamsburg, you may need directions (found on the gallery Web site.) Oddly, they include directions for driving from downtown Manhattan.

Walker - this is a _great_ idea for a blog. I love gallery hopping, especially those dedicated to photography. It's too bad so many galleries have such shitty websites--I guess all the more reason to visit the galleries themselves.
